Who we are
Surien is an automotive software startup redefining zero-emission vehicle performance. We combine real-world driving data with advanced models and predictive algorithms to ensure that real-world performance is optimised at every turn.
Our Story
Founded by Dr Rachel MacNeill, an engineer specialising in software-defined vehicle optimisation.
Rachel completed her PhD, in collaboration with Wrightbus, focused on enhancing the real-world range and efficiency of hydrogen fuel cell buses through advanced in-vehicle software optimisation.
After her PhD, Rachel led the powertrain and software optimisation research for the UK’s first hydrogen fuel cell coach, collaborating with Wrightbus and Translink as part of the Innovate UK and APC-funded ARMD2 project.
Surien was founded in 2025 to combine deep research with practical innovation to accelerate the global transition to zero-emission transport through smart, data-driven design and optimisation.
